Chrisi and I set a goal last year to attend every temple in the state. For now that is 13 temples. Soon 1 will close (Ogden) for remodeling and 2 others are in process (Payson and Brigham City). We started out with a great trip to St George Last January. We took my mother's Mini Cooper and drove on a friday down to Manti to the Manti Temple. We had never been there before, and what a beautiful temple it was. As we drove up it was surrounded by fog, and I tried to take a picture of it, but my camera card was full and it was taking forever to delete the photo. We did get some pictures after the session, but I missed the best photo. We then went down to St George and did some sealings on Saturday Morning before we headed home. it was a great trip, and loved driving with the top off on the Mini through Snow Canyon. For our anniversary in April we headed to Moab for a get away. Once again we took the Mini, and loved driving it through Arches with the top down. It doesn't get much better than that. We took off on Friday Morning and drove to the Monticello Temple. It was awesome. Such a great little Temple. There were not many in the session, and I recognized a gentleman on the session. Turns out he was in a training class I went to earlier in the month. He and his wife were doing the same thing in trying to hit all the temples. We really enjoyed hitting the ones we had never been to before. Oquirrh Mountain, Draper, Vernal, Manti, Logan and Monticello. Our trip to the Vernal temple was to go through with Chrisi's Nephew Jake before his mission. We had a lull in the schedule in the summer months, and had to go alot the end of the year to get them all in. Our last one was the Mt Timpanogas Temple the 30th of December. It was snowing, the roads were covered, it was cold, but we made it. We did initatory and it was packed. Of course our goal is to do it all again this year it was so much fun. And we hope to add a few outside of Utah this year. I will post pictures from our adventures soon. Who's with us to do it this year?
Our son Jaron is moving to La Mesa (San Diego) California on Wednesday, and of course we will have to go to the San Diego Temple when we go visit him. His iminent departure is a cause of much stress right now in the family. We are excited for him to go out into the world to see what he can do, but we are really going to miss him. Some times you want to hug em and some times beat em, but the truth is he will be missed greatly. His band is 'Art in Thesis' and he and his band hope to hit it big in California. They have a condo they are renting in La Mesa and are looking for jobs to support the dream. I can see a need for the Mini and a visit to our son and a temple trip in April for our anniversary. Of course when in Southern California with Chrisi, there will be a side trip to her happiest place on earth, at least for a day. Good luck to you Jaron!!! You rock....literally! And we are all pulling for you to make it. Enough with the tears already. And for those who feel our pain...we will accept treats of all delectible kinds to help us through this.
Since my last post I have finished the Biggest Loser in our neighborhood. I have lost 42 pounds, and have been able so far to keep it that way, even with some unhealthy eating over the holidays. Now it is back to eating healthy and exercising.
My latest endevour is a scout training getaway the end of January and first of February called Powderhorn. Chrisi calls me a scouting geek now, and I guess I am. It is 6 days of outdoor winter activities. I can't wait. Of course I hope to fill you all in, much to Chrisi's chagrin.
